How it works
From blank page to finished clip in about thirty seconds.
- 1
Write a line
A hook, a quote, a product name. Your words become the background of every cut.
- 2
Lock one word
Tap the word that matters. It stays pinned to the same pixel while everything else changes.
- 3
Choose a style
Fifteen original looks – from archive paper to neon HUD – each fully adjustable.
- 4
Export & post
Render an HD MP4 on your own device and send it straight to Reels, Shorts or TikTok.
What creators use it for
A match cut is punctuation, not prose. It works best at the moments you want remembered.
- Hooks that stop the scroll
- One word, repeated across twenty pages in two seconds, says “this matters” before a viewer can swipe.
- Series intros
- Save a look as a link and reuse it every episode. Change the word, keep the identity.
- Explainers & lessons
- Introduce the key term of a lesson – “inflation”, “recursion” – so it sticks.
- Launches & teasers
- Let a product name or date hold still while the world moves around it.
What is a text match cut?
In film, a match cut joins two shots that share a shape or movement, so the change of scene feels seamless. A text match cut applies that idea to typography: one word sits in exactly the same place on every frame, while the page, font and surrounding sentences change several times a second.
Because the eye is drawn to the only thing that doesn’t move, the focal word lands with unusual force. That is why the effect has become a staple opener on short-form video. Read the full explainer.
Private by design
Most video tools upload your project to render it. TextSnapy doesn’t. Every frame is drawn on a canvas in your browser and encoded with your device’s own video encoder, so your words stay on your device and exports don’t wait in a queue.
Your latest design is saved locally so a refresh never loses work. How we handle data.

Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, login or email capture. Open the editor and start typing.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
It is free with no export limits. The site may show clearly labelled ads on content pages in the future to cover costs; the editor itself will stay usable without them.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Frames are drawn and encoded into video inside your browser. Your latest design is saved in your browser’s local storage so you don’t lose it on refresh. If you copy a shareable link, your text is included in that link – only share it with people you want to see it.
What formats can I export?
MP4 (H.264) in Chrome, Edge and Safari, and in Firefox where the system supports H.264 encoding; otherwise WebM. Resolutions are 720p or 1080p in 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9, at 30 or 60 fps.
Is there a watermark?
There is an optional, small “made with textsnapy” credit that is on by default. You can switch it off with one click before exporting – nothing is locked behind it.
